New GX110 from eBay
Posted on June 30th, 2005 No commentsI bought a computer via eBay last week. I am installing stuff on it now – like W2K and other apps. It is an old 600MHz machine with 256M of ram and 10 gig drive. I probably decommission an older Optiplex and use the HD from it for more storage. I have a CDRW and an external DVD/CDRW that I could put on it too. Jess’s machine from Purdue looks like it gave up the ghost and is blue screening due to memory changes so I guess it is done for.
I bought it three years ago for $89 and threw 384M of ram in it along with the 120G HD and CDRW. I’ll transplant it into the GX110. I like the old GX1′s better but what the hay time marches on and things get cheaper & (better??).

Pluck
Posted on June 30th, 2005 No commentsI have just installed Pluck for the third time on various machines of mine. Pluck is a news aggregator, like in RSS, and it integrates with IE 6 pretty good. I got the idea from my son who is using it now. You can get it at Pluck’s website. Try it and I think you will like the feeds it brings effortlessly.
