The past couple of weeks have not been too kind for old Charlie. A herniated disc at location 6/7 has been given pain beyond belief in the right side. The doctors seem to take my pain in stride and it has taken two weeks to get an appointment where they will do “something” to the spine in the area affected. Meanwhile, I have been working at home as much as possible and sleeping on the couch (the solid back is something to lean against). The pain medication llows a few hours a night sleep and for this I am grateful.

Today we pretty much finished up the leaves for this year. Every weekend for the past months has been spent doing the clean up. This, in fact, is what triggered my neck problems. The leaf blower and the power vacuum helps a lot. Next weekend if there are no more leaves on the ground I will winterize the lawn tractor and the leaf vacuum by changing oil and putting stabilizer in the gasoline.

We will be having Thanksgiving again this year and we expect The Armeys and Dayton Moore’s to be here. The group is getting smaller each year from the peak of 35+ down to about half that amount. Of course, I cannot live with SAM for the few days leading up to the event as the is a lot to be done and few hands to do it. However, we manage and later enjoy the memories.

    Thanks to all for everything.
