  • Storm Warnings: 3 days worth

We are definitely winding down the season here at Lake Michigan. Many boats already are out and many more have removed their sails.

Yesterday we got out the wire brush and brushed down the boat cradle and it is ready to receive two additional supports. After they weld these on I need to paint the cradle and apply the carpet on the jack stand pads. We may not get the whole thing painted but we will certainly get the carpet applied so it will not scratch the boat.

We are expecting wind speeds in excess of 50 knots tonight, tomorrow and Thursday as a storm goes through. I have re-secured all the lines and taken down the flags. The gale warning was upgraded to a storm warning this afternoon.

We stripped, sanded and varnished the outside of the companion way this afternoon instead of going sailing. This is probably good because as I write this the wind speeds are in excess of 20 some knots. I’ll write later to let you know how we made it through the form.
