{"id":1052,"date":"2010-03-27T12:55:22","date_gmt":"2010-03-27T17:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/?p=1052"},"modified":"2010-03-27T13:09:03","modified_gmt":"2010-03-27T18:09:03","slug":"earth-cache-et-al","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/2010\/03\/27\/earth-cache-et-al\/","title":{"rendered":"Earth Cache, et al"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[singlepic id=160 w=320 h=240 float=right]We went <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Geocaching<\/a> yesterday and did an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/about\/cache_types.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Earth Cache<\/a> near our home.\u00a0 As it turns out this one was not too exciting or in a particularly beautiful area.\u00a0 It was interesting as the cache was a <a href=\"http:\/\/waterdata.usgs.gov\/nwis\/nwisman\/?site_no=04177720\" target=\"_blank\">Water Level Station on Fish Creek<\/a>.\u00a0 I have seen it on the <a href=\"http:\/\/waterwatch.usgs.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">USGS site<\/a> for several years but did not really know the physical location of the station.\u00a0 The link in the previous sentence takes you to the national map and you can click on the little dot in your area to see the available gauges.\u00a0 This is a pretty cool site &#8211; check it out.<\/p>\n<p>After doing the cache we went for a short 1\/2 mile walk on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Hamilton-IN\/Fish-Creek-Trail\/325942607244?v=wall\">Fish Creek Trail<\/a> near Hamilton, IN.\u00a0 This particular part of the trail (pictured) is almost continual canopy &amp; there are lots of deer, birds and ducks.\u00a0 The trail itself is a little over a mile long and has a nice gravel trail.\u00a0 Most of the time you will have it all to yourself with only an occasional walker passing by.\u00a0 Adjacent to FCT is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acreslandtrust.org\/templates\/System\/details.asp?id=44551&amp;PID=635724\">Robb Hidden Canyon<\/a>, an ACRES Land Trust ground, and that is a little over a mile long too.\u00a0 RHC has an interesting structure and is well worth the walk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[singlepic id=160 w=320 h=240 float=right]We went Geocaching yesterday and did an Earth Cache near our home.\u00a0 As it turns out this one was not too exciting or in a particularly beautiful area.\u00a0 It was interesting as the cache was a Water Level Station on Fish Creek.\u00a0 I have seen it on the USGS site for [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1052"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1052"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1052\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1054,"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1052\/revisions\/1054"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1052"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1052"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.charleswmoore.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1052"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
