OK, I am waiting.\u00a0 Waiting for what?\u00a0 Waiting for RTV Blue Silicone Form-A-Gasket to dry.\u00a0 The instructions say it dries in one hour and fully cures in 24 (whatever that means).\u00a0 Why am I waiting for it to dry?\u00a0 OK here is the full story.\u00a0 I awoke to a drip this morning.\u00a0 My great plumbing<\/a> job of yesterday had a very slow leak – about 1 drip per hour or two.<\/p>\n

I went in to the hardware and bought a tube of\u00a0 RTV Blue, came back home, found the dishwasher churning away and no SAM.\u00a0 So I waited the 2 hours for it to complete its cycle and shut the pump off.\u00a0 I opened all the valves<\/a> for the faucets around the house and waited some more for the water to drain from the pipes.\u00a0 Then I drained a gallon or two from the water heater to break the siphon<\/a> action and removed the shutoff valve that I installed yesterday.\u00a0 About another gallon of water gushed out into the pan I had in the cabinet where all the trouble started a few days ago.\u00a0 I liberally applied the RTV Blue to both the female valve threads and the male nipple and assembled the two parts.\u00a0 Now I await the verdict – no leak (yes, please) or still leaking.\u00a0 I hate to even think of the work that is going to occur if it leaks!<\/p>\n

Now I am waiting some more.\u00a0 It is a beautiful day out there and temperatures are in the high 50’s.\u00a0 What more could you ask for on a weekend Fall day?\u00a0 NO LEAKS……..<\/p>\n
