Cold Water Immersion
Posted on December 30th, 2008 No commentsNow this is a real eye opener. For a guy who has lived near and in water all my life I never expected the results shown in the video below. If you ever expect to be immersed in cold water this could be a life saver. Take the 10 minutes to watch and listen.

Third Christmas
Posted on December 27th, 2008 No commentsChris, DJ and Garret arrived just before dinner last night. We had a good time talking until 2330 and then it was lights out. Lights out for me until 0515 and I awoke. Now I am writing this little ditty.
DJ said he wanted the wireless working. I said go ahead with little expectation he could accomplish what I could not. About and hour later he had it up and going. I am writing this over the wireless link. He used his iPhone to confirm the link was up. Garret also was using link with his iPhone. They are pretty cool devices. It makes me want one of those phones. Anyway, thanks DJ.
Garret and I worked on Facebook for a time and I applied for Friendship with Garret, DJ, Chris and Jess. I’ll not bet on the Jess approval but the rest are approved. Thanks Garett.
The boys will be leaving in a few hours for Carol’s house and a good Christmas there. The said not to awake them until 0900. They have to leave about 1200. That gives us plenty of time for opening presents. Yea for number three Christmas.

Japan Auto Industry
Posted on December 25th, 2008 No commentsTOKYO (AP) – Japan’s production of cars, trucks and buses marked its steepest drop in at least four decades in November, an industry group said Thursday, as the fallout from the U.S. slowdown crimped auto demand.
Vehicle production in Japan, home to Toyota Motor Corp. and other major automakers, plunged 20.4 percent in November compared to the same month a year ago to 854,171 vehicles, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said.

Twins Birthday
Posted on December 24th, 2008 No commentsI tried to contact the twins today several times but no one answered and an answering machine is not enabled. I read Jacob’s blog and subscribed to all the feeds in IE7. It is nice that the blogging has started again.
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE & MITCH.

LA Times article
Posted on December 24th, 2008 No commentsI am coming to believe that we should ban Chinese products that relate to health, medicine and the environment. They are trying to slowly kill us and you cannot believe a word they say since the government is not grounded in Biblical principals. Write to you congressmen today.
China is the world’s largest producer of farm-raised seafood, exporting billions of dollars worth of shrimp, catfish, tilapia, salmon and other fish. The U.S. imported about $2 billion of seafood products from China in 2007, almost double the volume of four years earlier, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
But industry experts and businesspeople in China say that melamine has been routinely added to fish and animal feed to artificially boost protein readings. Melamine, commonly used in plastics and dishware, can lead to urinary problems such as kidney stones and even renal failure. -
First Christmas
Posted on December 21st, 2008 No commentsWe went to church this AM, a good service with Christmas songs, and it was Communion Day. SAM & I went alone as Jess and Martha were preoccupied with cooking things.Ann’s First Christmas was it’s usual chaotic self. Lee’s ham was more than excellent and the other food tasted OK too. The girls were the ones who exchanged presents this year. The guys buy what they want during the year so another appropriate gift is hard to find. I was honored to say the prayer this year but was derailed by a mishap with the Chrismas Tree and lost the train of thought completely.Afterwords Jess & I worked on the Saturn to get into shape for the trip back to Whiting. Work beckons Jess tomorrow so it will be an early rise.

Living Without Internet
Posted on December 20th, 2008 No commentsWe have been without Internet for 2+ days and a service call is scheduled for today at 1-5PM. I do not know haow Mediacom can offer IP Telephony when it takes days to get a repair call. I almost know what it is now- The barrel connector on the pole has picked up moisture and when the temperature drop and freezes the connection breaks.
Jess is here for the weekend holiday festivities at Ann’s. We had a nice talk this morning about her company and the business prospects. They appear good from that perspective.
I finished a very good fiction book called “The Shack”. It started off rapidly, slowed about a third of the way through and picked up from there to a bang up finish. If one keeps an open mind it could be a life changing experience. If you start to read it just promise you will finish it within one week.
SAM is out at the stores with the cell phone off. I hope she is having a good time. I was hoping to wash the car but think a nap sounds like a good idea. Andy is on his way up and we will be going out with the whole family tonight to Carusoe’s Italian Restaurant. Most of our family like the place so majority rules. Tomorrow is the Christmas at Ann’s with a supper to follow. Merry Christmas to all.
