  • Work Hard – Play Easy

Man, we got 6 sites done today.  Everyone was celebrating.  However, there was a dark cloud – the key ring I was using had BE’s van keys on it and they got lost.  Now what are we going to do when we get to Indy? I guess it will have to be the VIN replicate trick.

After work I had time to do the meditation for 40 minutes and felt energized after a time in the zone.  The whole day seemed better.

Dinner tonight was Salmon, medium steamed veggies and a sweet potato.  I felt quit satisfied.  BE’ had the big steak.  We had some good talks and new some of the same people so it was a good time this evening.

Tomorrow it will be down by the KY border and from there to Indy for another round of 6, I hope.  This has been a good gig.  I like being outside and this is outside for sure.  It is fun to run the bucket truck again and wear the safety gear needed for elevated heights.

I was lazy this morning and did not even get out of bed until after 0900.  I awoke earlier but for some reason felt tired and just did not get up. We did a lot of moving around Saturday and I guess it manifested itself as a lazy streak next morning.  I was pretty when I finally managed to look out towards the lake.  We received a hard frost and the temperature was around 37 at the top of the hull.

The rest of the morning was spent packing and just after noon Andy came over on the way back from a tour of the upper part of Michigan and Mackinaw Island.  They did not stay too long as I needed to hit the road for the drive to Jeffersonville.

The drive down was shorter than I thought it would be.  I alloted 5 hours and it actually took just a little more than 4 hours with one fuel stop. Actually, I am a little north in Sellersburg at the Ramada.  The have pretty good wireless here with strong signals.  I ater at the DQ for the first time ever and the food tasted pretty good.

SAM called and we chatted for a bit.  She went to a musical at the AOG with her sister.  They changed the inside significantly so maybe I wil have to drop in to see what it looks like.  Well I have to get ready for bed so enought of the diary stuff.  BFN.

  • Rainy day

It was a rainy overcast winter type day here today.  I went in for coffee late because I had to pick up a rental car in Auburn (for a two week road trip I have to make for the company).  Bill was there and we talked about his startup company that makes anti-microbial materials for a wide variety of applications.  By the time I arrived back at home it was 11:30 so SAM & I listened to our meditation CD for two 20 minute sessions.  We ate lunch, got some apples, found a geocache and took a 3 mile walk and here we are – another day gone.

Every day my retirement seems more certain for February but it is tempting to make it at Christmas so I start a new year with a clean slate so to speak.  I sort of like to do things like that anyway.  My current jobs should be mostly finished by that time anyway.

I might even be able to get in some Florida time this winter.  I would like to do mid-January to Mid-march and have SAM down a few times. SAM only has two weeks vacation so it makes things a little rough as I do not like being gone so long.

Well I have to go and quit dreaming so much.  A guy has to have something to look forward to doesn’t he?
