I have been jumping between Yacht World and E*Trade all night.  I am trying to decide what to do with applying a “stop loss” sell of a certain stock.  Last week it was up to 63 and now it bouncing around 56.50.  I have put two days of $55/share stop loss.  Had it gone up today I was going to put a trailing stop on that little puppy of $1.  Now I am not too sure what to do so I guess I will let it open and see what happens.  If it goes to $56.50 I am going to sell.  I do not have too much faith in the economy and it is an election year coming up too.

As far as Yacht World, I am looking for a Catalina >35 that has all roller furling, including the main, that leads to the cockpit.  My Young Sun is OK but I am up and down like a yo-yo going forward and then back, forward and back.  By the end of the day I am tired of running – especially on days when you are moving up and down 8′ or so – back and forth.

I also want an easy in – easy out boat that you can actually back up in the direction you want to go.  The YS is great on the ocean where you go straight for thousands of miles but lets face it, on the Great Lakes it is mostly day sailing in 10 kts or less.

  • The Sizzler

Posted on November 28th, 2007 cwmoore No comments

Ok, so I told myself a little lie last night – I was going to eat at Smokey Bones Wednesday.  As the appointed time arrived the Braun’s Sizzler seemed just too good to pass up.  I broke down and went to Braun’s.  Would you believe that the steak came back medium well instead of medium?  I sent it back and then it came out rare.  The plate is really hot so I cut in small pieces and let it cook to a medium rare.  They have not messed up  dinner in a long time so I have to forgive them.  I should have gone to Smokey Bones and had the Brisket Dinner (It has a wonderful taste with a bit of BBQ).

It is cold up here now and I wish I was in Florida.

  • Talapia Special & Teeth

Posted on November 27th, 2007 cwmoore No comments

I ate at Braun’s again tonight and had the Talapia Special with Brocolli, Culiflower and sweet potato.  Afterwards I went to Circuit City to get a hands free set  (the cheap kind with just a mic and ear bud).

While I was at CC I had the Verizon rep check out why the phone did not access the web.  He said the phone was too old and they do not support mobil web 1 anymore.  The phone is about two years old.  I think it will support SMS text messages but who wants to get more email?  Why not just call?  Most of the relatives have Verizon so the Incall is free.   Come to think of it I do not think Marc has Verizon so we do not get too many calls from that end or the other way either for that matter.

Today I went to the dentist for a crown prep.  After this one I only have one more to go and then all my teeth will be done.  This one today is number 13 position.

    Hey check this site out!

You can see the world coming apart by the seams.  It seems Indiana made the map because of some missing radioactive material.  It must be the perfect kind used to make a dirty bomb.  Also, check out the Icon in Saudi Arabia.

  • Back at the Excel Inn

I dragged myself out of bed this morning, loaded up and made the 2.5 hr run to GR.  Not too much was going on today but I helped Woody out with some questions for a vendor and then finished up a couple of open expense reports.  ITS Michigan needed additional content added to their website os I did that too.  Pretty soon it was 1700 hrs and I left to check in at the Excel.  Of course they had not put my reservations into the system but my usual room was open so I lugged the stuff upstairs and unpacked for the week.

I did my 40 minutes of relaxation, meditation session and departed for Braun’s and my favorite special.  I read a book for a few minutes and the whole meal came as usual.  After dinner I filled up the vehicle and drove past the auto dealers just to tempt myself and then back to home sweet home.

I started to write this blog but the blue screen of death appeared and the D-Link Wireless card seems to have died.  OK, then downstairs to borrow the D-Link AP they have for just such emergencies and away I go.  That is pretty much my boring day/week.  I feel like a fish out of the water without the boat floa

  • Haircut

Posted on November 25th, 2007 cwmoore No comments

Today started as another typical Sunday.  I have been getting into the bad habit of sleeping late – like 0800.  I got up at took all the pills I am supposed to and ate my cereal then took a shower.  I had to roust SAM from bed to get ready for church.  Today was Communion Day and it was a little more lively than usual.  It was a nice service.

Lunch was T-Day leftovers again and I felt tired so I took a nap but managed to get to my haircut appointment at 1600 hrs.  After she was finished w talked for a little while but had to go so we could get the 2 mile walk in before dark.  It was raining ice pellets the whole walk but started to get much heavier the last few hundred yards.

The latest medical trend seems to be Omega 3 so I am taking one capsule with each meal – oh I guess I told you about that before.

Jess called late last night with some questions about hooking up the speakers to the newly purchased amplifier.  After a couple of calls everything was working OK.  Now come all the antennas and surround sound speakers.  Maybe the Mac will get hooked  into the amp too so all the internet radio stations and tv have a reasonable audio.

As usual on Sunday night I try to get to bed early so I can get sufficient sleep for the early rise and 2.5 hour drive to work.  Therefore, it is off to the shower to get the hair cuttings washed off and then to bed before 2100 hrs.  BFN.  Love you all.

  • Post Thanksgiving

Friday, we had the transmission fluid changed in the truck -$145.00.  Boy prices have gone up.  Then we mulched and vaccuumed up the leaves in the upper yard.  We can see the end of the leaves in sight.  Ann and Lee came over for dinner of T-Day leftovers.  Jess was still here and working crafts for the work apartment.  Ann donated some real nice things  – like a $100 coffee maker.

Fish oil seems to be the latest craze so now the whole family is taking 3 capsules a day.  It is supposed to lower triglycerides and some of the LDL’s as well.  SAM has lost 5 # and is very happy.

Saturday we went up to Saugatuck to get some more things off Inspiration – mostly electronics but we charged the batteries while we were there.  I forgot to take the stop cable off that is frozen up.  Now I have to figure out something else that will work as a permanent solution.

  • Pre-Thanksgiving Day

I took a day vacation to day and it is deeply overcast, rainy and wet.

I found most of the “stuff ” I took off the boat but I still cannot find my diamond knife sharpener.  That will be a big loss as it has been with me for the past decade or more.  I sharpens a stainless steel knife in just a few swipes so sharp that when you drag it across a piece of hair you can feel it catching.  Now that is really sharp.

The drive up this morning was a little tedious and I felt tired – well fatigued is a better term – most of the way.  I was listening to a sci-fi book on tape that is actually a little bloody and Godless for me but once I start a book I usually finish unless it is so blatently pathetic or too heavily anti-Christian.  I finished about Charlotte so I still had a ways to go.

I wourked again in the field with Woody and we finished about lunch time so his choice was Uno’s.  I had the Uno Berger and it was OK but a bit too much grease and would have preferred McDonalds #2 meal with a bottle of water.  When we got back to the office I called sam and then went in to try and finish the report.  I got the site survey matrix done in Excel but wil have to write the report tomorrow.  The report won’t matter though because while I was writing people asked questions which were answered so everyone that matters knows the result.  Not too motivating  I must say.

After work it was the meditation sequence and I felt better.  I went to the library to turn the two tapes in and get another – a very thick CD library of twenty six CD’s.  It is something about Noah’s Ark twenty third century like.  I ate a Braun’s and the service was so – so but it was busy.  I like the waitress my brother and I usually get since she know what we want an how.  My sweet potato cake

  • Overcast, Grey & a lazy day

Posted on November 18th, 2007 cwmoore No comments

I awoke about 0800 this am and ate a quick breakfast of Wheat Chex, checked email and sat down to talk with SAM for a few minutes and zonk – back to sleep until noon.  Can you believe that?  In my whole life this has happened only a few times.

In the afternoon we picked up leaves from the up and down.  It was 4 jam packed , wet and heavy loads.  I say we are about 2/3 through leaves for this year.  The leaf falling is late this year as we are usually finished by now.

After that came cleaning the basement for the Thanks giving crowd, meditation and dinner which we just finished.  I am packing for this short week and I am taking wednesday off to finish the house cleaning as SAM is not fit to live with unless it is done just so.  I have to get up early so I am going to bed now.  BFN.

  • Going to see Jess

Posted on November 17th, 2007 cwmoore No comments

We made the trip back west to the Gary area to see Jess today and the new appartment.  Actually it is a townhouse with three floors and is in a quaint village in the shadows of the giant Chicago.  We liked the place and took a drive around and visited a marina too.

We had a good visit and lunch, delivered some items and returned home.  It is about 2.5 hours each way but we wanted to see the new place.
