  • Dinner @ A&L

Posted on December 29th, 2016 cwmoore No comments

We had a dinner tonight at sisters & BIL Lee.  Jessica was there too and we played card games that were new to Jess.  We had a good time and all participated.  On the way home we got gass as it looks like a mini-blizzard out there.  I put on the heat in the garage to make sure the snow was off the car for out start East to TOL.  What a great time we had this week.

  • Kodi & Add Ons

Posted on December 29th, 2016 cwmoore No comments

Today I have pretty much dedicated to Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 2.  This is an amazing device and software.  This day was spent adding Phoenix and Exodus. It is not straight forward and it is Linux based using OSMC OS software.  These Addons allow a torrent type of content – I think.  I just looked at a newer Startrek and it was in 1080P and it streamed peacefully.

I must admit that I had to watch a Youtube to navigate the complexities but it is possible.  The end result is a Media Center that allows presentation of Music, Video and Audio Books.  All of this is for free and of high quality.  Try it.  If you need help email me at csjmoore at gmail dot com.

This is the best movie I have seen in quite a while. It was riveting, intense and full of humanity  via several aspects.  The multi-faceted, multi-viewpoint fast moving world of military strike drones seemed real and actual.  I enjoyed it on Amazon Prime free movies.

  • Another Doctor Day

Posted on December 27th, 2016 cwmoore No comments

We went to the Nodule Clinic this AM. The initial news was encouraging and I am supposed to return in 6 months for another CAT Scan so they have comparisons.  I had a Nurse Practitioner who seemed quite informed and professional. So, in lieu of other symptoms 6 months it is.

The day is overcast and grey with a NW wind and 30°.  Sort of an unmanageable day and I am hanging out in the Technical Room writing this blog and doing inside things. tomorrow is forecast to be about 40 and sunny so we may take Jess to Pokagon State Park.  That will be fun.

Yesterday I put all the pictures that did not die with the T5400 on a 64GB microSD where they will store for a long time without worry.  I think I will buy a few more MicroSD tone to have on hand and the other for a Raspberry Pi3 Security Camera. Moore later.

  • Doctor Day

Posted on December 22nd, 2016 cwmoore No comments

Warm today.  About 40°F and there were clear skies for a part of the day.  We came home I sent some Christmas Letter 2016 to some more friends and then whiled away the rest of the afternoon.  We received a couple more presents from Marc which were quite nice – thanks you. Tomorrow we go and pick up Jess at the Toledo airport.

  • Momday, Monday

We were busy this morning.  I made several important calls while we waited for the guy who was supposed to be here to pick up the remaining wood but he never showed.  Around 1100 we loaded the car and went north to the FCC, our church, to fix some trim that had popped off.  We took my tools and some Spackle,  Contact Cement, screws and some epoxy.  We used most of them.  SAM found even more things to fix so we did that too.

When we were finished at 1400 hrs we drove back to Angola to eat at Sutton’s Deli on the Mound. The day was sunny and the sun beat through the window so it was a very nice meal.  The crowd was almost nil so we had the place to ourselves.

I just got a call from Dale, my Amateur Radio friend, who is in an Ann Arbor hospital getting chemo for Leukemia, and he said he was not in pain but his bladder is extremely swollen and he has lost hearing in one ear.  This morning when he awoke he did not have any vision for a while.  I feel for him.  I pray for him and so are the Gideon’s.

I took a two hour break and installed a new blower fan in the Honda Civic: A dead simple install that would be even easier if  you did not have to look through a mirror to see up under the dash. Pop a panel off and three torx screws and the motor comes down and it is almost that easy re-installing but what comes in handy is a set of wood block shims to hold the motor up while you that first screw in.  The fan growls at me no more. Yea.

  • Sunny Sunday

We went to church this morning.  The roads were ok but not great.  It was a good service and full of great cheer and the kids programs. I’ try to post the pictures with this blogline.  I am not sure my Christmas Letter 2016 may not have survived and I will have to start again if it did not. Tonight is forecast to be -9°F  Brrr.

I needed to call Aunt Mary this afternoon and had a good time talking with her.  Such a sharp mind at age 92.  She does not have email anymore so my call was a substitute for the Christmas Letter 2016.  We had a long talk.  It was fun and encouraging.

Right now I am listening to amateur radio Allstar node 27225.  It always  has interesting discussions going on.  Loves and health to everyone. Cheers. The picture of the manger is of my BIL Lee and Sister Ann at PLUM Church last night.  There was a mist dropping what felt like rain all evening.

  • End of the Year Funk

I have not been feeling that great for the last couple of weeks and the boat deal fell through, which might be a blessing, and now it is cold up here in the low single digits but today it popped up to 19 Degrees.

We just got back from Walmart where we bought some food and some more presents for the holidays.  I went on Amazon and bought a couple more things.  One of the items is being shipped directly to David  Moore down in Texas – no peaking David until Christmas.

I spent nearly the whole day tracking down some Xrays taken last winter and the winter before.  Who would have known they could be so important. Anyway, they should be on their electronic way to my doctor up here.  Hopefully they help. Cheers.

  • Nook Glowlight

I bought a Nook Glowlight BNRV500 tonight Refurbished on eBay.  Price was the driving factor and I could have gotten a + model for $79.99 but I figured I did not need the +.  It is supposed to be here before Christmas.  I just had to tell someone about it. Night.

  • Snow and More Snow

Posted on December 11th, 2016 cwmoore No comments

Here in PL it snowed all last night and today and it is still snowing. I guesstimate 5-6″ so we may get the promised 7″ before morning. When it stops I will start to blow snow. The temperatures are reasonably cold in the high 20’s or around 30°F right here. The snow is small and a bit granular so it should blow pretty good when I get out there. Hopefully there is sufficient gas in the small can to plow the driveway enough to get down to  the gas station tomorrow.

I have pretty much spent the whole day inside and taking it easy.  Last night I had a dream about the new Allstar node I am working on so I may go out to the Technical Room tonight and split open the battery, remove the guts and put a small perf board with the resistors necessary to add a home made battery-less adapter.  That should pretty much take care of that part but I need to add the Db-25 connector to the end of the cable and clip off the special earphone plug so as to bypass the internal speaker.  I do not know why I want to make another node as I have two already – a portable one and a rack mounted one in the Technical Room.

I guess there is no Moore for tonight. Cheers.
