  • Another one : Simply Amazing

Posted on January 30th, 2009 cwmoore No comments

Here is a video sent to me by a long time friend from the software days.  This is simply amazing stuff – science fiction – except that it is not fiction.  It is happening right now!

  • Back to words?

I have got to get back to writing.  It is all too easy to find a YouTube video that you like and post it to the blog.  That said here is one that needs to be posted.  In light of what I just said I will publish this one and put the video in the next one.  Ho Hum 0 it is a dull day and somewhat cold at 19 degrees with threatening skies (weather service says 40%).  It is not yet January and my cabin fever is raging.  If you have not experienced cabin fever I say Amen.  Did you know that you can experience cabin fever even though you are outside in open air?  Yes, you can and I am living proof.  Cabin fever is an all pervasive feeling that you are trapped by weather.  The cold temperatures, overcast skies, too much time on your hands and lack of auditory and visual stimulus that lead to manifestation of this syndrome.  Hopefully SAM’s new computer will come today so I can work on it.

  • Media Matters – Left, Right or Center?

Posted on January 27th, 2009 cwmoore No comments

Lou Dobbs attacked Media Matters for having the temerity to challenge his statements.  There is no good journalism today.  Everything is just an arm of whatever politics the people saying, writing or videocasting happens to be.  I cannot believe other people actually believe what these guys are saying.

I am on mailing lists for right wing material.  I also get the “hate” emails from friends that glorify Bush and degrade Obama.  These people who are otherwise pretty intelligent become slathering idiots when they read this propaganda.  I now get left wing Media Matters because I could not believe the right wing stuff.  I just wanted to balance the equation.  At least MM does not fill its pages with diatribes of the most nonsensical proportions.  What happened to moderation and Moderates?  I am a Moderate where is my voice?  All I hear is echo’s and echo’s and echo’s.

  • Shipshewana

We went to Shipshewana this afternoon and went Geocaching at three sites and did some of the tourist stuff.  One store had “butter cheese” so we bout some of than and smoked cheese as well.  Two of the sites were there and one we could not find and we think it is “missing in action”.

It was a pleasent day of about 19 degrees F and partly sunny.  When we got back home email awaited about the mis-directed computer that arrived on our door step yesterday.  The guy sent the wrong one to us.  We now have to re-box it and await for the label to arrive by fax.  Hopefully the one we bought for SAM will arrive and I can start populating it with the programs we need to run the business.  This will be the fastest computer in the place.  I am sure it will be enjoyed.  Now I have to wipe the old Dimension and put it on eBay for sale.  I hope to get $110 but who know how it will go in this weird economy.

  • Nice Day – Warm & Sunny

Posted on January 22nd, 2009 cwmoore No comments

This day has been very busy.  I started with a meeting this morning regarding our hangars.  We are trying to set some ground rules for a Mission Statement, talking about Aviation Board activities and airport advocacy.  This lasted until 1100 hrs.

After lunch we went to the garage to sand the boarding ladder.  The Teak is very oily and we wore face-masks to keep out the irritating dust.  The whole garage was covered in a film of dust so I took the leave blower and blew the dust around with the main door open.  This seemed to work pretty good.

Afterwards I installed the new bird feeder just outside my office window.  Nice but no birds yet.  I anticipate a flock in the next few days.  There were some Tufted Titmouse earlier in the day.  I hope they come back.  I like them.

Sorry if this offends someone but I am not real sorry.  My paternal Grandmother immigrated to the USA in 1914 at age 16.  She spoke perfect English and read it too.  My maternal Grandmother’s mother spoke her native tongue and English perfectly.  What is wrong with expecting this today?
