  • Record Floods in NE Indiana

The water is up – really up.  Pigeon Crick is approaching 11 ft tonight as more water filters in from the fields.  I hope it is approaching it’s zenith as the water is covering the lower yard.  The website indicates a plateau but you can see for yourself when you look for the date 3/12/09.  This is the real time data but you can get historical data too.  I went kayaking across the yard this afternoon.  I had to rescue a floating dock section that drifted off shore.  I took a turn around the lake and down the channel to the exit conduit.  It is almost full to the top but it does not seem to be blocked.  It was sunny and quite cool today and tonight promises to be colder than last night.

I joined the Sarah Palin PAC group the other day.  I want to see what is happening from this particular site’s point of view.  We need to keep informed in order to make good judgements.  There has been a two day stock market rally and DOW has gained 400 points.  I certainly hope it keeps going for a while.  Still we need to adopt the tenents of the Pickens Plan.  there will be a virtual March on Washington 1 – 3 April: so far there are 1.8 million sign ups.  There are a few pieces of good news and it looks like there might be light at the end of the tunnel but we may have a few bends to go around yet.
