We left early for Fort Wayne and my Dermatologist appointment.  It was my end of the season skin check up.  This year they found a couple more to slice off for testing.  All the follies of my youth are catching up with me – never used sun block.  The Dr. recommended using sun block (Blue Lizard brand SPF 30+)  every few hours when in direct sun & he did not compliment me on my tan.  As a concession,  I have started using a long sleeve sun block pullover, from Campmor,  that has silver thread.  The thread conducts heat away from the body and it really is a lot cooler than normal.

janome-9700 After the appointment we went to SAM’s appointment and on to the fabric shop where, it appears, a new sewing machine is in the future:  Janome 9700.  It is a nice machine that can do a lot of the stuff we want to do with it plus a lot of “expand your horizons” projects that we can only dream of right now.  I also envision a sun shade for the boat and a rain tarp for the forward hatch.  Well, the machine does a lot but has the one drawback of not having a free arm.  Maybe a separate machine for the free arm?  Who knows at this point but we will be glad for what this machine offers for current and future projects.  Moore later…..
