I installed FF3.5 beta 4 last night.  So far I like it and it has some neat features.  One I like is the ability to take any hyperlink and drag it to the tab bar so you can open it a new tab.  No more target=”newpage”.  Another feature, as yet unexplored is the ability to watch movies without flash or codecs: they explain that the codec in FF3.5 is in its infancy and there are some stutter issues.  I am sure these are growing pains and it will go away after a time.  Other than that it looks about the same as before.  I would wait for the full release if I had it to do all over again as there are some minute rendering issues.

Bummer, all my tools are up on the boat so I am totally helpless.  I need to drill  a 7/16″ hole and do you think I can find a drill bit?  You guessed right – no drill bits anywhere.  Plus, my little kit that plugs inot my electric screwdriver with the hex insert is gone to the boat too.  I am going to have to bring them back.  Where did my 3/8″ plugin drill go – now that is a real mystery because it has been in the bottom of the tool chest for 25 years and now it is gone.  So here is what I have so far – 1/2″ electric drill, 24v Battery drill, 3 sets of bits, 12v Battery drill, all my meaningful hand tools,  two hex head tool kits and much more  are all on the boat.

I tried an experiement this afternoon and it worked swell.  I took some Super (CA) Glue and some baking soda to make a real nice filler.  I first filled a hole with baking soda and packed it reasonably tight.  Then I applied the thin CA glue and walla, 15 seconds later a real nice plug for the hole and it fit tight.  I want to use CA to fill a crack in my boat and I think it will work nicely.  Good stuff that CA.
